Båge & Söner and a Love Story
Once upon a time, a man named Ivar Kreuger fell deeply in love with a woman named Ingeborg Eberth. Despite their seventeen year long romance, they never had any children, and Ivar sadly passed away in 1932. What remains is the grand Tändstickspalatset, now home to Ivar Stockholm, along with the beautiful boutique hotel Ingeborg.
A Legacy Restored
Decades later, Lena Werner, inspired by Ivar Kreuger’s legacy and his magnificent Tändstickspalatset, restored parts of the grand building. She transformed it into the boutique office space IVAR, capturing his spirit of design and precision.
A home in her name
Soon after, Lena and her husband Michael visited Sóller in 2019 and were captivated by another historic building.
Five years later, Lena recalls, “When the first pieces found their place, it felt like the house was alive again. That was the moment I knew - this is Ingeborg.”
"Naming the house Ingeborg is a homage to her, giving her a home full of care, beauty, and dignity.”
Design Born from Heritage
When designing, Lena says, “The greatest inspiration came from the house itself and its history, but also from the story behind its name,”. Both Ivar & Ingeborg reflect a shared language of craftsmanship and timeless design.
Time, Love, and Legacy
And fittingly, just as Ivar himself had a lifelong fascination with clocks and watches, time still lives quietly within these walls. Båge & Söner’s alarm clocks now rest in both places. A subtle tribute to Ivar’s love of precision and thoughtful craftsmanship and an honor to Ivar and Ingeborg’s timeless love story.
